If Wong Jing can be praised for a lot of movies, I guess we must also remember the dozens of poor (crap) movies he has written, produced or directed. Prince Charming sadly belongs to the second group. The story is poor, lacking originality (the rich young woman falling for the poor young guy...), the casting looks nice on the paper, but everybody knows that Wong Jing doesn't know how to direct actors. The movie is just boring, and worst of all, you know what will happen at the end, which is always bad for a HK movie. With a good US movie, the high quality of all the production values (directing, cinematography, cast, means...) can make you forget about the lack of originality of the story. For a HK production, usually the ideas can make you forget about the lack of means. That's surely not the case here, making Prince Charming a very poor romantic movie. Avoid this one, Wong Jing, Andy Lau, Yu Rong-Guang and Michelle Reis have done much better and more original.
