When Japanese invaded Taiwan, Liu was only 12 and was learning the martial arts skills in the troupe. As the troupe was dismissed by the Japanese, Liu began to strike the jackpot and gambling to earn his living. Afterwards, Liu met a whore Ying and they decided to help the poor by robbing the rich which drew the Japanese's attention to capture them. Liu then went to Ying's home village for hiding. Unfortunately, he was killed by Ying's brother-in-law.
